A leader of one country, who is a president, serves his country
without regard to self-interest. The president must serve his country
alone, and not work for his personal profit.
Many people believe that Mr. Bush started the Iraq war solely for
the economic interest of the Bush’s family & their colleagues. Bush’s family
members work tightly with military suppliers and the oil industries. For
example, Mr. Bush was a Texas oil man. And Mr. Cheney has a long
record of looking out for his own economic interests, too. Although Mr.
Bush claimed that the Iraq war was solely for promote peace, Mr.
Greenspan, the former charimen of ... , said that the Iraq war was for securing of oil supplies. Mr. Bush has said the Iraq war will secure world peace? Maybe in Mr. Bush’s mental
universe he actually believes what he said, but other people think
otherwise.
Mr. Lee, who is the president of S.Korea, wants to carry out many
public work programs, including a huge waterway project from the North
to the South. The problem is - Is this project for all Koreans, or
self-interest? It is a reasonable question, because he is a former CEO
of a construction company that might benefit from this project. Since
the project will go through properties owned by his colleagues and
family, who will benefit from it?
Mr. Obama has recently appointed many former members from Mr.
Clinton’s cabinet. They have to try to solve a very bad world economic
crisis. However, many of them promoted policies that laid the foundation for the present crisis. Now they are to be a part of the solution? Can people who help create the mess be expected to clean it
up?
GM Daewoo, which was acquired by GM during the Asian economic crisis
of late 1990s, closed some of its factories temporarily for about one month.
This is an example of how the economic mess in the U.S influences in the rest
of the world.
We need a leader who serves for general interest for his country,
not for personal or family profits. Is this an impossible hope? The History
teaches us that until we get leaders who serve for the general good, we will not
get over this economic crisis.
Today it is snowing in S.Korea. IT looks quite bleak and chilly. I
therefore decided to stay in-doors and work from my home. Hopefully, the
weather will improve so that I can get to the office tomorrow. To be
cautious, I will use public transport tomorrow rather than drive my
car. How is the weather where you are?
I am a huge fan of Doosan Bears, which is a Korean professional
baseball team. I am not a sports guy, but I love to watch sports games.
When I saw the super-match between world best teams. I felt as if the
game was the masterpiece. I am obviously a sports fan, even watching
cricket is enjoyable!
The Korean pro baseball league has just 8 teams. The top 4 teams make
the play-offs. However, the Korean play-off's structure is a little
different: the 4th place team meet the 3rd place team in a best 3 out
of 5 series. The winner then plays against 2nd place team in a best 4
out of 7 series just like it done in North america; now the winner here
then plays the 1st place team for the Korean championship in a best 4
out of 7series. Doosan finished second in the league. So Doosan made
the play-offs. They played against the team that finished #4, Samsung
Lions.
Currently Doosan leads the 2nd round series 3 games to 2. We need just
one more win to go to the Korean championship round against SK Wyverns.
(Do you know what Wyvern means? It is a kind of dragon. It is not a
useful word for a professional team, I hope. Afterall, who wants to get
burned? :) )
I love baseball so much that I would watch Doosan bear win the Korean
championsip than watch the Korean national soccer team win the the FIFA
world cup.
If you exchange your 1$ to Korean currency, you can get 1,261 won.
If you exchange yout $1 to Korean currency, you can get 1,261 won.
Just 1 year ago, you just could get 929 won.
So Korean need to pay 30% more right now than 2007.
So Koreans need to pay 30% more right now than in 2007 in order to get dollar.
It makes very bad circulation in economical value chain. Foreign
invertor get back their value in Korean exchange market. They get back
their $, so the exchange rate would raise. It makes Korean exchange
market is falling down.
This makes little economic sense. The Korean economic &
